CFS CARE is currently recruiting for a Service Manager who will help to deliver Quality Standards for Supported and Independent Living Services under Ofsted which are being implemented throughout the sector from 2023.
This is a key role and will be contributing significantly to the management and development of services in Semi-Independent living for young people in the North West.
You will be responsible for 4 homes driving up standards in support, safeguarding procedures, leadership and accommodation.
You will work to deliver outcomes outlined in Service, Corporate and Regional Plans and will be expected to drive forward continual improvement for the overall effectiveness of the service involving customers, staff and stakeholders.
Main Duties
· To manage a group of supported accommodation on a day-to-day basis, ensuring it is compliant in meeting all relevant legislative and contractual requirements, including the health and educational/vocational needs of young people.
· Support young people to develop independence skills in line with their personal support plans.
· Liaise with other departments and specialist external agencies to ensure that the young people receive appropriate plans, programmes and support in the home to aid their integrate into the local community as part of their placement plan.
· To undertake risk impact assessments on all referrals and manage the admission process in line with the organisations policies and procedures.
· To monitor all risks and ensure all risk assessments are updated as required in order to mitigate any risks for the young people we support and our staff.
· Provide care and support to the children and young people to encompass all physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and social needs of our children and young people.
· Manage the complex behaviours of the children and young people to encourage them to engage in a positive and structured routine, including supporting in crisis intervention.
· Ensure the protection and safeguard the wellbeing of the young people in our care.
· To act as the Designated Safeguarding Officer for the group of services ensuring all safeguarding concerns are reported in a timely manner.
· To build and creating mutual trust and respect with young people in order that they respond and react appropriately to information and advice.
· To liaise with all local authorities, professional partners, internal and external stakeholders and Ofsted.
· Interpret and implement changes in legislation relating to occupancy to ensure any enhanced requirements are met.
· Identify resourcing needs and the ongoing selection, training and development of staff to ensure service delivery is optimised and relevant standards are met.
· Coach support and develop staff, including supervision, to maximise their performance and ensure high standards of care, values, ethical standards, equality and diversity, policies and procedures, legislation and contractual and inspection framework requirements are met.
· Complete regular supervisions of staff to ensure all training and development needs are met.
· Ensure all staff have an annual appraisals which are meaningful and identify any development and training needs.
· Assist with budget preparation. Manage and control budgets to meet financial parameters.
· Engender a positive health and safety culture to meet and maintain company and external accreditation standards.
· Produce, maintain and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available.
· Work with the Deputy and Team Leaders on an on call rota
· Other duties commensurate with the level and nature of the post
