Featured Fostering Stories

“I was a carer in a Care home, I had been thinking for a few months about going back to fostering so I spoke to my family and listened to what they thought about it. They said they would help in any way they could. I found CFS through Facebook. I was quite nervous giving my job up and committing myself to fostering which does change your life as I know from fostering before.”

“We are two respite foster carers based in Blackpool, we started our fostering journey in July 2022. I (Amy) have always wanted to become a foster Carer due to having experienced foster care when I was a young child. Even though I know I always wanted to become a foster carer …. timing is everything, it’s important to know when your ready to begin this journey and lee and I had discussed and prepared before starting the process by researching All areas, reading other foster carers stories and getting advice from friends who are already approved before getting in touch.”

“We are Janette and Mark, we decided to foster really for myself. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and found I had to give up my usual job. I was working with children then, a cook in a nursery. As my time with cancer was slowly getting to a point that I was wanting to go back to work 3 years into treatment. I wondered what kind of job I could manage. We sat and thought, and we decided that if I can still be a Mum to our children and a Nana to my grandchildren then surely, I can be a guardian to children that needed to be looked after. So, we looked at various foster agencies, and decided to give CFS Care a call.”

“I started my fostering journey with CFS Care after passing my fostering panel in December 2021, it was a easy decision for me to make as I have always had friends of my daughters or friends of the family living with me as part my family for over 13 years and when Covid happened and we was all in lockdown a friend who fosters for CFS recommended I talk to them and come away from a job I wasn’t happy in and do what I really enjoyed doing, caring for children, it then went from there!”
