Team Manager- Leaving Care 16+

Salary: £30K PA
Full time post 40 hours a week including participation in an on-call rota system.

The hours compromise of working a combination of day and evening shifts including either a Saturday or Sunday (one in four weekends), This will be determined by the needs of the business and the Registered Manager.

Our Service

Team Managers will be working with a Support Team and Young People aged 16+ with a wide range of support needs, you will be managing and supporting the team as they guide our young people developing their life skills to enable them to live independently.

Role Overview

· To support the registered service manager and deputy manager in developing, overseeing, leading and supporting two provisions within the scope of supported accommodation living.

· To complete induction, supervision, and annual performance reviews

· To mentor and support staff / teams in de – escalation and crisis management including debrief following incidents

· To ensure all task completed for young people’s transition in and out of the service.

· To connect and develop relationships with external agencies and stakeholders

· To provide on call support across all provisions in accordance with an on-call rota and on call policy.

· To manage budgets and finance in line with policies and procedures

About you

Residential Support Worker- Children’s Home- Full Time x1, Part Time x1

Salary : £25,000 a year (plus £55 sleep rate)

Location: Billinge, Wigan

Registered Manager RCH

Salary : £49,150

Role overview:

To assist the RI in the development of, and to be responsible for managing, a Registered Children’s Home.

To ensure that the home and staff operate in full accordance with all statutory, regulatory and standards requirements including:

  • Children Acts 1989 & 2004
  • Care Standards Act 2000
  • Children’s Homes Regulations 2015

To ensure that all children and young people have their needs met, their welfare promoted at all times and that they are safeguarded from any harm abuse, neglect, exploitation etc.;

To be responsible for the development, control, co-ordination and support of the staff group;

To supervise the Deputy Manager, enabling them to support supervising the staff team;

To be responsible for ensuring that effective records are maintained in accordance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and associated Regulations and Standards;

To be responsible for all aspects of budgetary control relating to the Home;

To be responsible for ensuring that effective rotas are prepared and followed and provide an on call rota;

To be responsible for co-ordinating admissions and discharges for the home and responding flexibly to requests for service, within the context of individual agreements and the home’s Statement of Purpose;

To deliver a co-ordinated service through effective liaison with the Social Workers, all other connected professional agencies and parents/carers;

To be responsible, in connection with the day-to-day management of young people, for liaison with Social Workers, GPs, Education staff other statutory and voluntary agencies, parents & carers;

To work effectively with Commissioning Partners, Police, LSCB and Ofsted etc.; To set high standards in respect to their own professional conduct;

To ensure effective communication across the whole staff team; To ensure staff receive support and supervision sessions;

Ensure staff respond to any child care concerns appropriately;

To hold regular staff meetings and to keep staff fully informed of the CFS policy and practices;

To ensure that the building, equipment and furniture is well maintained, cleaned and cared for.

Maintenance Handyman/woman

Salary : £25,000-£27,500 per year, dependent on experience.

About Us:

CFS Care provides care and support to young vulnerable children across greater Manchester within our supported accommodation service and children’s homes.

Main Locations: Audenshaw, Droylsden, Crumpsall, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham & Preston

THE ROLE:

Working closely with the existing maintenance team ensuring planned and responsive repairs are carried out to a high standard, taking into consideration health & safety compliance.

Scheduled planned maintenance will include but is not limited to painting & decorating, basic plumbing/joinery, gardening and jet washing.

The role will require the person to be able to complete reactive maintenance issues as they arise and so the person in this role will be well organised, pride themselves in high standards and attention to detail and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. This is a supporting role to the services and related properties, therefore the person in this role must have a good working relationship with colleagues, be able to work as part of a large team, as well as independently and also have good communication skills with children and young people. The nature of this role means that a high degree of flexibility around working days and times may be required at times.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Liaise with the maintenance co-ordinator to agree and prioritise tasks for the week ahead

· Carry out any maintenance tasks as directed using time effectively to complete the tasks

· Communicate progress of priorities to all relevant people in a friendly manner, updating the maintenance system with this information also

· Ensure the structure, fabric and services of our properties are maintained to a high level and report any concerns as they arise.

· Conduct daily maintenance duties including plumbing, lighting, basic joinery and masonry, etc. Part of the role will be conducting refurbishment work to the property, which includes filling in small holes and painting (plastering if in your skill set)

· Building furniture as required for the properties

· Contact and manage contractors that may be required to carry out specialist jobs

· Work on own initiative and be able to make an investigation into/check faults

· Assist any other maintenance person if and when required

· Maintain and up keep of outdoor spaces

· Assist in refuse/recycling

· Project work

· Health and Safety – ensure you comply with Health & Safety procedures at all times

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE RELEVANT TO THE ROLE:

· 3 years’ experience in a similar role where references can be obtained from previous line management

· Customer focused with a can-do attitude

· Excellent attention to detail with good organisation skills

· Team player with the ability to work on own

· Adaptable and flexible

· Maintain high levels of Health & Safety and compliance

· DBS certificate will be applied for.

Are you a passionate and experienced care leader ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dynamic Deputy Head of Care to support the effective running of our children’s home and undertake Responsible Individual (RI) duties.

About the Role

As Deputy Head of Care, you will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the home. You’ll ensure that young people receive nurturing, safe, and high-quality care aligned with their individual needs and development goals. You will also ensure the home meets and exceeds all Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support the Head of Care and deputise in their absence

· Lead safeguarding and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement

· Fulfil RI duties ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015

· Supervise and develop staff, maintaining a motivated and capable care team

· Champion the voice of the child and support their personal development and aspirations

· Engage with key stakeholders including Ofsted, families, and local authorities

What We’re Looking For:

· Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

· Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience in a residential children’s home

· Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience leading safeguarding concerns

· Full UK driving licence

· Emotional resilience, strong communication, and excellent leadership skills
