We are Janette and Mark, we decided to foster really for myself. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and found I had to give up my usual job. I was working with children then, a cook in a nursery. As my time with cancer was slowly getting to a point that I was wanting to go back to work 3 years into treatment. I wondered what kind of job I could manage. We sat and thought, and we decided that if I can still be a Mum to our children and a Nana to my grandchildren then surely, I can be a guardian to children that needed to be looked after. So, we looked at various foster agencies, and decided to give CFS Care a call.
It’s honestly the best thing we did, we got through all the application process and was approved as foster parents nearly 2 years ago now.
We have two brothers placed with us; they have been with us for since approval so nearly two years now. The first few weeks were definitely a challenge, but now the boys are settled and relaxed.
All this was with the help of our CFS Care social workers, all the staff are friendly, you can ask any questions, none are too silly. We feel like a big family. I have personally recommended other people to get in touch with CFS Care, as I believe fostering with CFS is much better than any other agency.
